Singapore’s three million international business travelers in 2008 made up 40% of total tourism and contributed around S$6 billion (US$4.3bn) to the economy. The Global Financial Crisis saw the industry take a hit in 2009, but with regional economies on the rebound and a number of flashy new attractions, Singapore looks set to hold its place as Southeast Asia’s most popular corporate travel and conference destination well into 2011-12.
