The 2010 ASEAN Energy Awards winners were announced at the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting in Da Lat City Vietnam this week, with Singaporean renewable energy and architecture projects winning four categories and five prizes overall. Renewable energy winners were a plant that burns food waste to supply the Singapore power grid while reducing landfill and another that burns sewage sludge to produce thermal energy and fertilizer. Three buildings took prizes for innovative green technology and energy efficient design, including solar photovoltaic (PV) cell arrays, motion sensors and techniques to reduce cooling energy and costs.
